Route

A CPD Programme and an enabling environment is developed which is resilient to changes in school staffing including both teachers and leadership.

Teaching Quality

  • Step 1 Icon We build the capacity of identified lead practitioners in schools to make changes in their teaching.
  • Step 2 Icon Model Classrooms / Practitioners will be created within schools.
  • Step 3 Icon Lead Teachers will be in the position to effect change by building the capacity of teachers within their own schools and in other schools.
  • Step 4 Icon We develop enough teachers teaching at a high enough level to provide a tipping point where change can be sustained.

School Leadership

  • We develop a school ethos of change.
  • School Leaders will be in the position to support change within their school and support other schools.
  • More effective school leadership will develop.
  • We build the capacity of school leaders to facilitate change.

Recognition & Motivation

  • All teachers will be encouraged and motivated.
  • Enabling environments for change will be developed.
  • Lead teacher and school leaders will be encouraged and motivated.
  • All interactions are positive and supportive and there exists a mechanism for recognising “good teaching.”

District Support

  • District Inspectors appointed.
  • District Inspectors can monitor and support change within their own roles.
  • Lead Teachers will be in a position to be released and effect change by building the capacity within other schools.
  • Gain agreement and support from the District Education department to encourage and support the implementation, the programme can be obtained.

Local Organisation

  • District change can be monitored and supported by local organisation.
  • Whole school change can be monitored and supported by local organisation.
  • Lead Teachers can be supported by local organisation.
  • Build the capacity of a local organisation to support and monitor change.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Changes in quality of teaching and learning across districts can be measured and celebrated at a ministry/regional level.
  • Changes in quality of teaching and learning across schools can be measured and celebrated.
  • Changes in the quality of teaching and learning in lead teachers’ classrooms can be measured and celebrated.
  • Ensure effective M&E is put in place to measure and celebrate change.
